Mad Yankee Ranting

 My letter to my Congresswoman regarding Arlen Specter and his latest tirade (or lets spend millions more worrying about freaking sports when people die in Iraq and thousands are still displaced by Katrina, etc.)

Ms Waite;
I am writing this short note to let you know that I think that what Arlen Specter is trying to do is just
another egregious waste of money and a bald-faced media-exposure-for-free ploy.The Spygate situation has been dealt with by the NFL in house by Roger Goodell and if he is satisfied with the findings and fines levied,what will wasting taxpayers money and the
time of any member of Congress do? NOTHING except for the self aggrandizement of Mr Specter and whatever crones he can muster for the "cause".
In these times, with the economy being torn asunder by oil greed and bad White House leadership and the ever increasing roll of those who are in need of basics such as food, clothing and education...can we really afford to allow millions to be spent to no good end?If the quality of life in America has become secondary to the world of sports in the mind of an elected rep of his constituency, should he not be tethered from said pursuit? yes.
In closing, I thank you for your time and also for doing the job you were elected to do so well.

Sincerely;
Christopher D McCoy

PS: nobody asked me to do this, I just find it incumbent uopon me as an American to shout out against the crazy fucks when the need arises, you can too.Maybe preventing a hearing by Specter will help
avoid wasting milions and turning the US Congress into a clown paradise even more than it is....end rant... BC

 Man sues airline over flight spent in toilet

Tue May 13, 2008 2:11pm EDT
NEW YORK (Reuters) - A New York man who says he was denied a seat on a five-hour JetBlue flight and was instead told to "hang out" in the plane's bathroom has sued the airline for $2 million, saying he suffered "extreme humiliation."

When Gokhan Mutlu arrived to check in for a JetBlue flight from San Diego to New York in February he was told the flight was full, according to the lawsuit filed in New York State Supreme Court.

But Mutlu was allowed to board after a JetBlue flight attendant agreed to give up her seat and travel in an airline employee "jump seat." It was not clear in the lawsuit whether the flight attendant was working.

However 90 minutes into the flight, the pilot told Mutlu the flight attendant was uncomfortable and he would have to give up his seat and "hang out" in the bathroom for the remainder of the flight, the lawsuit said.

The pilot "became angry at (Mutlu's) reluctance" and said Mutlu "should be grateful for being onboard," the lawsuit said. When Mutlu volunteered to sit in the "jump seat," he was told it was reserved for airline personnel.

At one point, the airplane experienced turbulence and Mutlu sat on the toilet seat without a seat belt, causing him "tremendous fear," the lawsuit said.

JetBlue was not immediately available for comment.

 Men charged after skull dug up, used as bong

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Authorities in Texas have filed corpse-abuse charges against two men who allegedly removed a skull from a grave and used it as a bong.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office confirmed on Thursday that misdemeanor abuse of corpse charges have been filed in the case.

One of the men allegedly told police they dug up a grave in an abandoned cemetery in the woods, removed a head from a body and smoked marijuana using the skull as a bong.

Police found the cemetery and a grave that had been disturbed but are still investigating the rest of the story, officials said.
