My take on Barry Bonds run for the record...

The man has never been found to have intentionally used steroids. So just give him his due and fuckoff!Anyone witha brain would try to stimulate HGH production since it keeps you strong and healthy..I do, so am I cheating LIFE? No, I am just smart enough to know how to do my best at besting the clock. If Bonds is using HGH and it cannot be detected, just regulate its prudent use to level the playing field, as it were. end rant...BC

No quick fix for dirty hands in hospitals: study

Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:00AM EDT CHICAGO (Reuters) - Hand washing is something most people learned about as children, but a British study finds that health workers are not faithful about washing their hands and few strategies to improve hygiene have worked. Infections spread by health workers are a major cause of illness and death, and simple hand washing is shown to be one of the best ways to prevent it. In Britain, 10 percent of patients develop health care-associated infections, which kill 5,000 people each year at a cost of $1.86 billion a year, the researchers said. In the United States, health workers' dirty hands infect about 5 percent of patients at a cost of $4.5 billion a year, they said. A team of researchers led by Dr. Dinah Gould of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at City University in London performed a systematic review to determine whether strategies to improve hand hygiene are effective. The researchers, whose study was published in this week's Cochrane Library Newsletter, found only two trials that were even worth consideration and both were of poor quality. Based on those, they concluded that a single teaching session or seminar was not likely to affect hand washing behavior, even in the short term. "We desperately need some good research that will begin to show which interventions can bring about change in people's behavior," Gould said in a statement. "In addition to preventing unnecessary spread of disease, good hand hygiene is highly desirable on aesthetic grounds alone," she said. "It forms an important indicator of the quality of health care and should continue to be promoted in all clinical settings," she added. How about leaving a bunch of antiseptic gel dispensers around? DOH!BC

Drunk emerges unscathed from under train
Tue Apr 17, 2007 11:35 AM ET
BERLIN (Reuters) - A drunken man who fell under a train after being jolted out of a nap at a railway station emerged unscathed from beneath the locomotive.

The 19-year-old had fallen asleep on the station platform in Cologne but was startled by the incoming train. Losing his balance, he fell in front of the locomotive, police said.

"According to the man he fell exactly between the two tracks and just felt a light knock on the head," Cologne police said in a statement.

The shocked train driver pulled the emergency brakes only to see the man emerge unaided from under the engine. He was taken to hospital for observation.
A tad bit lighter post was warranted I felt...BC

 Another psycho, another tragedy...

a person that would prepare for and summarily execute people is thinking of nothing but hateful thoughts, this evil lil bastard allegedly had problems with his girlfriend.Maybe its the "I'll show you"syndrome.33 including him dead & 30 wounded...on top of it all the coward offed himself.I shall not hold my breath waiting for things in this world to get better, for it will not.If that was going to happen it would have started long ago.I just hold my faith in God and have as little to do with this corroded world as i can and just be the best me I can be.
