Mad Yankee Ranting

A year passes - or re-posting from approx. a year ago....WHY is this WAR still happening? OH, for the money? OK...NOT!!!

Why do pc's pre-condition us to look past the obvious?
...case in point...not being familiar with the format of this internet note-pad,you can take a long time to realize how easy it is to use. Maybe the inherent conceit of the average net wiz is the cause of not wanting to click a "help" icon to clear the air and get on track. It is possible that its just another testosterone driven denial syndrome,as is the innate fear to admit that the Man does not know everything.Such a bungholy mess hormones make of our
usually capable minds!!So, I am getting the drift and shall continue on with the entries here as a newfound form of release.Think freely
and remember that WAR is against God... killing for corporate gain as well as political popularity is still murder. You cannot justify it when you travel thousands of miles to pull the trigger on folks you do not know.Iraq = NAM nouveau? Its looking that way.And take note of the lack of footage of casualties. They learned from past experience, eg; the nightly stream of bodybags on the network news...such a treat to see and eat dinner to...NOT!Do not buy the drama...question authority and keep an open mind.end message/tangent

Because we don't already have enough fried foods..

Because we don't already have enough fried foods..
Fri Oct 27, 2006 8:48 AM ET

NEW YORK, Oct 26 (Reuters Life!) - A new fast food is making its debut at U.S. fairs this fall -- fried Coke.

Abel Gonzales, 36, a computer analyst from Dallas, tried about 15 different varieties before coming up with his perfect recipe -- a batter mix made with Coca-Cola syrup, a drizzle of strawberry syrup, and some strawberries.

Balls of the batter are then deep-fried, ending up like ping-pong ball sized doughnuts which are then served in a cup, topped with Coca-Cola syrup, whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and a cherry on the top.

"It tastes great," said Sue Gooding, a spokeswoman for the State Fair of Texas where Gonzales' fried Coke made its debut this fall. "It was a huge success."

Gonzales ran two stands at the State Fair of Texas and sold up to 35,000 fried Cokes over 24 days for $4.50 each -- and won a prize for coming up with "most creative" new fair food.

Now other fairs in North Carolina and Arizona are following the trend, and other people are trying to emulate Gonzales' recipe.

Damn now I have to make fried Mt Dew balls!!!yeah right OK!

Verifying the hunger site as genuine- GO CLICK EVERY DAY! I have for 7 yrs.

Dear Reader:

You can't be blamed for being skeptical. On the surface there's not much to differentiate this warm, fuzzy offer from the dozens of "forward this to everyone you know" scams and hoaxes already out there. The message even seems to promise something for nothing, usually a classic sign.

on closer examination, however, this Web site turns out to be unique. The Hunger Site doesn't ask much of its visitors, but it does require them to blurbs from its sponsors after clicking the "Donation" button. In exchange for that exposure, the sponsors contribute funds which are channeled to reputable international programs to feed the hungry. All the available evidence indicates that the Hunger Site, founded by private citizen John Breen as a personal contribution to improving the plight of the world's poor, is completely legitimate and really works.

In the July 22, 1999 edition of the Internet Tourbus, Patrick Crispen confirmed the site's integrity through one of its sponsors:

I know this whole "click on a button, feed a hungry person" story sounds too good to be true, but I called one of the Hunger Site's sponsors and they confirmed that they were indeed donating 3 cents for everyone who clicks on the site's "Donate Free Food" button. The sponsors are donating the money to generate goodwill (and, truth be told, sponsoring the Hunger Site is also a brilliant marketing move -- once someone clicks on the "Donate Free Food" button, they are taken to a page that shows a small ad for the sponsor. The click-through rates for these ads must be phenomenal!) In response to my own inquiries, Anthea Webb of the United Nations' World Food Program confirmed that the organization indeed receives donations via the Hunger Site and characterized the project as "innovative." Says Webb, "Cash donations equivalent to more than a million servings of food have been donated since the site opened in June 1999."

You can visit the Hunger Site itself to learn more: http://www.hungersite.com

It takes maybe 30 seconds to do a good deed. Thanks TCBS BC
